I woke at 3:30, stressed about my passport, and struggled to sleep for 2 hours. Eventually I decided to just call the campsite myself at 8:30 and see what happened. Around 5:30 I got back to sleep.

Up at 8. Downstairs. No Panos. I got breakfast and called the campsite. They said they’d send it today. Fingers crossed it all works out. I’m going to be stressed the whole time. But hey, at least I don’t have to cycle in the rain.

I did nothing most of this day. I spent a while in my room watching TV shows and Youtube on my phone. Then I cycled into town in the rain and gave my washing to a dry cleaners. I also checked the times for Oppenheimer at the local cinema. I bought some bread, cheese and ham from a supermarket, and some cookies, came back to my room and waited around again.

I also texted C asking if she wanted to call at some point, then I called mum. She advised me to call the campsite again. I did. They sent off the passport at 6pm and gave me a tracking number. The English speaking receptionist – Harris – came back and helped me read the website. He also offered me a cheaper room if I needed to stay longer. I did nothing but youtube and nap for a while.

At 7:30 I walked through the light rain into town. I bought a ticket for a 9pm Oppenheimer showing. I went to a pub to get a beer. The owner chatted to me a little. I talked of my passport and my cycle. She also recommended me a pub in Thessaloniki. Then an old, toothless man, who spoke very little English, joined me at my table. He told me he used to have blonde hair, had lived in London, and his brother had married a Scottish woman. That’s all I got out of him all day.

Around 9 I bought some snacks, went to the cinema and watched the film. It was good. They had an abrupt interval for 10 mins halfway through? Well needed tbf. It was good, but not very cheery. I left feeling sad. It had been 10 hours and C hadn’t texted back. I listened to music on the walk home in the rain. I feel so utterly lonely. I showered and slept.
