Awoken once again at 10:00 by Matts endless alarms. He and Miles were leaving that day at 2:30 so we had a lazy morning of packing, pastries and un poquito cleaning. Nik arrived at 1:30 and gave us a lift to the bus station. I said goodbye to the guys then we drove to Nik’s and I finally met his mother. She seems nice, but has zero English. I had some food of tasteless asparagus type stuff, at which point Andrew joined, then we got meat, potatoes and patties. That was good.
Andrew didn't finish his food and I got to see a Greek woman’s displeasure at this, which was amusing. Later in the lift Nik’s mother called me polite and said Andrew didn’t finish his food and was always complaining. He was shocked and hurt (I reckon) but tried to laugh it off.
Nik drove us into town and he and his mum went to clean Mirto’s place while Andrew and I got a coffee. We saw a cool cat. Afterwards Nik drove us to a beach bar and picked up his friend Helena on the way. We also met all the people from the night before in a shop, and one working there gave me a water for free.
At the beach bar I reclined on a cushion, which was good vibes. We went for a couple of swims, played a few games of Uno (Andrew usually lost) and drank a beer or two. Then we went to another one (Mirasol) and did basically the same, meeting a couple more of Nic’s friends there. Everyone there, girls and guys, was very good looking. Later we danced at the bar, but Andrew got awkward, so I went for a swim with him instead. We left around 8 and rushed back to shower and pick up Ilyas in time for a party on the other side of town.
It was cool vibes – they had a DJ set up and a mini-fridge in the garden. I drank beer, rum and coke, and rum and pineapple. Early days I left and got a souvlaki pita from a nearby shop. The party was mostly fun, but I was in a low energy mood and kept taking myself out to be alone and recuperate. Andrew was social for the both of us. Nonetheless I had fun – a few good chats, dancing, even some singing, and a nice birthday cake. We left at 4am again and Andrew drunkenly chatted to Ilyas about Croatia the whole way home.
When back Nik thought he’d lost his keys, but I reminded him he had his bag in the boot. A relief. We got in, had water, I lay down on the sofa, and slept deep.
